Trim Work | Custom Wood Work

Millwork is like the frosting on a cake - pile it high on top to make a thing of beauty or smooth it along the sides or bottom to hide an imperfection or two.

Cabinetry can be painted, glazed, distressed or stained and veneer finishes add a contemporary feel. They can be modified to fit antique, vintage, retro or country décor. There are cabinet styles and sizes for any room — kitchen, bathroom, den, family room, media room, bedroom or even the garage.

Millwork, by strict definition, is made of wood and turned, smoothed, edged, carved, or fluted. It can be the gingerbread trim above a doorway, a rosette block that defines a door opening, or a plinth block at the base of a door moulding. It adds architectural interest, but it also adds a finished look and can hide those areas where the base moulding might not quite hit the floor in a true line by a doorway. Pillars and decorative columns used as table legs or end bases for kitchen islands are millwork as well as corbels or decorative brackets that brace a shelf. Millwork can be stacked to add height to a bookcase or bank of cabinets and it can anchor a room. Beadboard, paneling, wainscot, and chair rails add presence and elegance to a room or an area.

At Marling Lumber, the types of moulding and millwork are only limited by the imagination. From small ornate trim work to large soaring columns and newel posts, we've got it all. If it's something sturdy like metal stair balusters, a historic match to millwork with old-world elegance, or something in an economical composite - get what you need at Marling Lumber.
